Continuity of Learning Plan for Positive Beginnings, Inc.
It is the policy of Positive Beginnings, Inc. to provide all educational and therapeutic services on designated school days whether the school building is open or closed. In case of school closure for any reason (weather, safety, other emergency, etc.), educational and therapeutic instruction will continue virtually. Whenever possible, at least one day’s notice will be given to the families.

All teachers have been instructed to deliver three 45-minute lessons along with the assistance of their TA’s and 1:1’s, during school hours or at mutually convenient times for the families and the therapists. Lessons will be offered at 9:00am, 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Teachers have emails and phone numbers of all students in their class at home so they can send the virtual link to the families on the morning of the closure and/or the night before if we know in advance of the school closure. Teachers will take attendance for all children any time instruction is delivered off school premises. Therapists and teachers will coordinate services and children who received therapy(therapies) or attend a school session will be marked as present.

Therapists have copies of their therapy schedules at home as well as the phone numbers and emails of all children on their caseloads. They have been instructed to keep to their daily schedules and provide therapy sessions virtually for any day that the school day has been cancelled. If a child cannot attend, the therapist will try to substitute another child who has missed a session recently and provide a makeup session. Therapists will take attendance for all sessions provided/missed/made up any time sessions are provided off school premises.

When permitted, the school will reopen for learning. All teachers will call, email or alert the families of the children in their classes during remote instruction with the details of the reopening.

Administrative staff will notify the bus companies of the closing and the reopening of the schools.

Es la política de Positive Beginnings, Inc. proporcionar todos los servicios educativos y terapéuticos en los días escolares designados, ya sea que el edificio escolar esté abierto o cerrado. En caso de cierre de la escuela por cualquier motivo (clima, seguridad, otra emergencia, etc.), la instrucción educativa y terapéutica continuará de manera virtual. Siempre que sea posible, se dará al menos un día de aviso a las familias.

Todos los maestros han sido instruidos para impartir tres lecciones de 45 minutos con la asistencia de sus asistentes de maestro (TA) y personal de apoyo 1:1, durante el horario escolar o en horarios mutuamente convenientes para las familias y los terapeutas. Las lecciones se ofrecerán a las 9:00 a. m., 11:00 a. m. y 1:00 p. m. Los maestros tienen los correos electrónicos y números de teléfono de todos los estudiantes de su clase en casa para poder enviar el enlace virtual a las familias la mañana del cierre y/o la noche anterior si sabemos con anticipación del cierre de la escuela. Los maestros tomarán asistencia de todos los niños cada vez que se imparta instrucción fuera de las instalaciones escolares. Los terapeutas y los maestros coordinarán los servicios y los niños que reciban terapia(s) o asistan a una sesión escolar serán marcados como presentes.

Los terapeutas tienen copias de sus horarios de terapia en casa, así como los números de teléfono y correos electrónicos de todos los niños en sus listas de casos. Han sido instruidos para mantener sus horarios diarios y proporcionar sesiones de terapia de manera virtual en cualquier día en que se haya cancelado el día escolar. Si un niño no puede asistir, el terapeuta intentará sustituirlo con otro niño que haya perdido recientemente una sesión y proporcionará una sesión de recuperación. Los terapeutas tomarán asistencia de todas las sesiones realizadas, perdidas o recuperadas cada vez que las sesiones se lleven a cabo fuera de las instalaciones escolares.

Cuando se permita, la escuela reabrirá para el aprendizaje. Todos los maestros llamarán, enviarán correos electrónicos o notificarán a las familias de los niños en sus clases durante la instrucción remota con los detalles de la reapertura.
​
El personal administrativo notificará a las compañías de autobuses sobre el cierre y la reapertura de las escuelas.
